Sunday Somethings- May 2024

Hello, Sunday.

Hello, May!

Whew, April sure came in a like a lion. I know that little saying is usually designated for March, but for me, April took that prize. I started the month in London and ended it in San Diego, with a trip to Nashville in between to make it one very busy month.  Who even had time for real life with all that hoopla?

The good thing is that I will be home for the rest of the month before I take off on the first of two summer adventures, so I’m taking the time to rest and recharge, get back into a solid routine and make sure I’m as ready for the fun as I can be! All good things, but I need to make sure that I’m in the right frame of mind to enjoy them. Turns out the older we get, we realize that there can be too much of a good thing.

How did April pan out for you? Here’s what I’m looking towards this month:

wishing: the 4-day workweek that we’re working towards will hurry the hell up!

hoping: my well-laid plans stay just that.

thinking: of my immediate to-do list, followed by my soon to-do list. always a list somewhere.

praying: everyone stays healthy for summer.

planning: our danish era. copenhagen, here we come.

dreaming: a little dream

trying: a clothing subscription box thing. closet needs a refresh. will report back.

shopping: for a new travel backpack. will report back on that too.

watching: ugly betty for the first time; the west wing again, because it’s the best.

reading: the new veronica.

eating: it’s sandwich and salad season! some gems coming at ya soon. but thinking this one needs to come out of hibernation asap.

playing: tennis and pickleball! ready for pool season.

going: to espana.

thanking: little b for taking such good care of my crawley.

Have a great week and fab month!

Monday Musings

Hello, Monday.

I hope you had a restful weekend. I spent the first half in Nashville for work (with Mom as my favorite tag-along) and spent yesterday catching up from it. It was a good trip, too short to see anything in depth but it gave us just enough of a taste to want to go back.

The downside is that Crawley didn’t handle the new housesitters well, so we spent a good part of yesterday calming down and recovering from that.

Kids.

Anyway, a few things caught my eye this week. Let’s see!

Are we finally going to take women’s sports seriously?

Also, related…WTF is this. Here’s to tennis for pay equity for men and women.

Love me a throwback moment! #SpiceWorld

Oh gosh, I’ve become a Gig-Tripper.  Guten tag, Eras Tour.

Ugh. Another reason food in this country is terrible. The ice cream that wouldn’t melt (hint- then it’s not ice cream).

It’s spring cleaning! Here are some tips to keep your appliance in top shape (note to self- clean dishwasher filter).

This is the coolest photo!

If this one-woman show about RBG comes to your town, you gotta see it!

I dug this salad out of the archives last week and it still slaps.

Are we at ice cream season yet? Getting the churn ready for this one!

That’s all I’ve got. Have a great week!
